Collingwood Before & After Nov 27 Written By Alissa Mercier Mid Century Revival In collaboration with Sandrin Construction, we had the pleasure of updating this gorgeous mid-century bungalow in the community of Collingwood, Calgary. The ENTRANCE: before & afterThe existing entrance to this home was cramped, long and narrow. To remedy, the front bedroom, which was being used for storage, was redesigned into a multi-functional, custom designed mud room. A fantastic Mutina Tex tile was inset in the floor to add some mid-century personality, and draw you into this home. The MUDROOM: afterThis gorgeous mudroom features floor to ceiling millwork (on both sides of the room) with custom built in storage for everything from jackets, cleaning tools, sports equipment and even a hidden computer monitor above the desk. A bench with a custom cushion adds a soft spot to sit and a funky fabric to match the style of the room - and family. The perfect grey/green: Benjamin Moore Sharksin (2139-30) was used on the millwork, and ties into the Tex tile mosaic. The POWDER ROOM and SPARE ROOM: beforeThese two spaces were transformed to the beautiful mudroom you see above, and the new powder room seen below. The POWDER ROOM: afterThe powder room was redesigned with a modern floating vanity, a full wall of green vertically laid glazed tile, a beautiful and practical reeded glass window and the most fantastic pendant light matching the MCM style. Flat cut walnut drawer fronts match other woodwork in the home and again carry forth the mid-century style of the home. The ENSUITE: before The ENSUITE: afterThe ensuite received a major re-fresh while keeping the same footprint. New flat cut walnut doors and drawers, new counter top, black finishes, tile work, lighting and a gorgeous feature wall with Noa Tanzania Almond ceramic tile update this space beautifully. A washer and dryer is installed in the cabinetry opposite the vanity for ease of use. The PRIMARY CLOSET: before & after. The primary closet was also given a re-fresh, including built in drying racks.
