Kitchen Design
Six Things to Consider When Designing a Kitchen
1. What are the current pain points: Is it flow? Storage? Is there a lack of lighting? Is the room simply outdated?
A fully reconfigured kitchen in our Mountain Modern project makes use of a corner window with amazing views, giving ample light and a focal point to the new room.
This Mount Pleasant project kitchen solves both flow and storage issues the clients had with their previous kitchen. It now presents a layout perfect for entertaining and plenty of storage to keep everything in its place.
2. Consider seating: for how many people? In the kitchen, dining room or separate nook? What makes the most sense.
Plenty of seating options in our Park View Transitional project.
3. How many sinks: and what type? Single bowl, double bowl, prep sink?
At our Varsity Traditional project, the clients elected for a single bowl main sink under the window and a prep sink at the island.
4. Appliances: Consider the pros and cons of gas vs. induction; range vs. wall ovens, steam ovens etc.?
Wall ovens at our South Calgary project. Not pictured here is a separate gas stovetop on the island .
Induction range at our Lakeview project, keeping the island clear for prep.
5. Small appliance storage: Where will they go? Are they easily accessible? Is there room in the pantry? Is a small appliance garage and option?
The walk through pantry at our Varsity project provides ample storage for lesser used small appliances.
6. Dedicated drink areas? Is an area such as a coffee station or bar area desired?
Dedicated bar area in our Lakeview project.
Coffee station in our South Calgary project.
